In Support of One Billion Rising

One Billion Rising is, or rather was, an event intended to “end violence against women and girls” by getting a handful of the ten thousand or so people who actually heard about it to get up and dance on video.

It has been generally panned by even the most sedentary slacktivists as being meaningless, but this reporter disagrees. It is a perfect example of what happens when hippies and marketers show up at the same pot party. All one has to do is read their FAQ to see the love, dedication, and sales expertise that must have gone into this effort.

SkepDirt is so impressed by this movement that, in a holistic display of solidarity and awareness, this reporter is now going to rhymically tap out the tune to Helen Reddy’s “I Am Woman” using the plus key on the keyboard:

++++ + ++

+++ ++ ++ +

+++++ ++ +++ ++

++++ + ++

+++ ++ ++ +

+++++ ++ +++ ++

Chorus:

+++ (+)

++++ ++ (++ ++)

++++!
